Central Park

Cooper woke up still not feeling well. He was up quite a bit during the night. We had really hoped to be heading out of the city to Philadelphia today, but there was just no way. His stomach was still killing him, and he wasn't up to doing much. After a lazy morning in the apartment we decided to walk to the corner to try some breakfast at our favorite food truck. On Saturday mornings there is a great food market there too, to pick up some breads and fruits/vegetables.

He put on a smile and attempted to eat a waffle. Unfortunately, he got through one bite and just couldn't do it.
We took a nice walk over to Central Park. Cooper was moving a bit slower than usual, but it felt nice to be walking through this gorgeous park.
We saw lots of street performers and this bubble blower. People here will do anything to make a buck!
They stood against the wall to try to get wet from the sprinklers. Although the heat wave is officially over, it is still pretty hot and very humid.
We have always wanted to rent the rowboats at The Lake in the middle of the park. Zoe and I told Cooper we would do the rowing and he could just relax.

The views on the lake were gorgeous!
We cruised under bridges and saw turtles...
and some cute ducks...
and went under some trees to enjoy some shade...

Zoe did a great job rowing us for a while!

and we had a great view rowing next to Bethesda Fountain....
Unfortunately, Cooper started feeling worse. He laid down for a bit while we rowed ourselves back.
On our walk back home we passed Strawberry Fields, the memorial to John Lennon.
We also passed by Rita's, a fantastic place for Italian ice and custard! I thought the cool ice might taste good to Coop, but no luck. Zoe and I, on the other hand, loved it! She got the straight Italian ice, and I got mine layered with vanilla custard.
We spent the rest of the day resting at home. It was not how we wanted to spend our day, but Cooper was pretty miserable and couldn't move off the couch much. His stomach was cramping, painful, and nauseous. We walked down the street to pick up some chicken noodle soup for him for dinner, and of course Zoe found another bakery with macarons.
She picked out a couple, and we headed home for a quiet night, hoping and praying Cooper would feel better by tomorrow.
