USD Game!

Cooper's basketball team got the chance to go down and watch the University of San Diego's men's basketball team tonight. I've never been to this campus before and I absolutely loved it!

 What a beautiful campus!
The boys took their seats and were anxious to watch these guys play.
They were so excited to be able to take the court at halftime.
They played each other, 5 on 5, for a 10 minute scrimmage.
They had an awesome time playing on the college court. The stadium was pretty empty, but the fans that were there did a great job cheering on our boys!

Cooper had a blast and played really well out there, even making a basket in the first few minutes.

Their time was over...way to go Clippers!
The men's team gave the boys high fives as they exited the court.
These boys are full of personality! What a fun time for these 11 year olds.
They spent the last half cheering on USD, as well as watching and dancing with the cheerleaders. Oh boy!
I'm so thankful we got the opportunity to participate in this. The boys had a great time, and it was neat to watch the level of college play in person. It definitely gives these boys something to work towards and see the possibilities ahead.

Family Visit

Aunt Nor and Uncle Dave were in town from Idaho for the weekend, so we met up for brunch in Old Town.

Somehow Coop didn't make it into any of the photos, but we had a nice meal and enjoyed walking around town on another beautiful day and catching up.

Valentine's Day!

It was so nice to have the day off from school and work! We had a lazy morning, and made french toast for breakfast. We exchanged cards and chocolates. I love the sweet notes my family shared with me.

We were hoping to go spend the day somewhere fun, but both kids had sports to get to later in the day. So we stayed close to home and went for a hike instead.

It sure was a beautiful day! I can't believe it is the middle of winter...it sure hasn't felt like it. The rest of the country is dealing with cold and snowstorms. Here it feels like summer!

Zoe did a heart braid for dance, and Coop headed off to lacrosse.

We had a late dinner, followed by our chocolate fondue dessert.
 As always, it was delicious!!

Happy Valentine's Day to my sweeties!!

Knott's!

My mom did a great job of taking care of the kids while Joe and I were gone! She shuttled them to and from school, dance and basketball...took care of their meals, school lunches, laundry, and even bought them some clothes. :)
On Sunday, my Dad, Jeff and Cathy took the kids to Knott's for a fun day. Since it was Super Bowl Sunday, hardly anyone was at the park. They were able to walk on almost every ride and didn't have to wait for food anywhere!

They went on tons of rides, and many of them several times each.
They explored the Old West and talked to the prisoner...
and visited the old school house...
Gramps was in charge of holding the snacks and jackets...
They had a good lunch, and picked up some delicious fried chicken for dinner before heading home.
They decided that they want to make this an annual tradition to go on this day since there was no one there. The Super Bowl sure was a disappointment this year! My team finally makes it it (Go Broncos!) and it was awful. Joe and I were able to watch most of it on the plane flying home from our trip, and it was painful to watch. I'm so glad the kids had such a great day! Mimi got them back home in time for bed before we made it home. Thanks Mimi and Gramps!
