Halloween 2016

It was a busy day at work with lots of excited kids! We don't do costumes at our site, but some of the staff got these matching Halloween shirts...

 It's crazy how different Halloween feels now that the kids are older! The kids did carve pumpkins with Joe after school while I was at work. I got home just in time to get a couple pictures.

 We still did our annual chili dinner before the neighborhood kids were out and about, although our group was a lot smaller this year!

 I had dropped Coop off with some friends earlier, so he didn't join us.

 Zoe had some of her friends over and they went out for some candy, and walked to another friends house.

Coop finally met up with them, and they all walked home together. Joe and I passed out candy and hung out at Todd's after party for a while. It was a fun night, although I miss trick-or-treating with my babies!

Party Time...

Kim hosted a fun Halloween party at her house Saturday night.  I threw together a last minute costume of "Smarty pants".  It was a fun night, filled with drinks, jello shots, dancing, ping pong, pin ball, and hanging around the fire pit.

Good times were had, and we're already looking forward to the next one!

Pumpkins!

Once again, we made our annual trip to the pumpkin patch! Cooper wasn't all that thrilled, but he appeased me, and let me get a few pictures in. :)

Pink Out!

Today was the pink out day at GOHS in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month. After a late night run to Walmart to get a few more items of pink, they were ready to go...

Spoiled!

I had a great birthday! After my fun day at Disneyland, I really wasn't needing or wanting more, but I was spoiled rotten today! Everyone at work made sure I felt loved and appreciated. Lisa made me this cute birthday banner and brought balloons.

Kim even ordered this giant, and amazingly delicious, birthday donut!

 

I was showered with flowers, gift cards, a few adult beverages, and more chocolate than I can count!

 I had a great sushi lunch with Jenny and Leslie, and was showered with more gifts. Zoe even brought me an iced coffee after school, and I came home to another bunch of flowers. Cooper made me a thoughtful card, and Joe got me some great gift cards for some much needed shopping! My parents spoiled me as well, and sent a box of birthday gifts to work. :) I enjoyed all the texts, phone calls, and Facebook messages throughout the day, and ended my day with a late night coffee with a friend.
Although I don't necessarily enjoy being another year older, I am so blessed to be surrounded by family and friends who love me dearly!

1st Annual Mom's Disney Day!

Jenny, Darian, and I all have birthdays this week (Leslie is the odd one out with a June birthday). Instead of doing dinner, or a spa day, Jenny came up with the idea of a day at Disneyland! Our kids thought we were crazy, but we were all SO excited!
We left at 6:45am, stopped at Starbucks on the way, and were on the shuttle at the park by 9:00am. Let the selfies begin!!

 It was already crowded, but we figured out our plans. Our first ride of the day was Pirates of the Caribbean, with only a 15 minute wait.

 Time for a roller coaster...Thunder Mountain Railroad it was. Our kids were dying when we sent them this. Little did I know, Zoe was posting them on Twitter...

 I was ready for a churro! Just the beginning of our day filled with junk!

 We spent the day criss-crossing the park, getting fast passes, riding rides, eating, talking, laughing...

 Darian slaughtered us all on Buzz! Although Leslie was a close second!

 It was a gorgeous day!

 Darian had researched Disneyland "tips" before we left. She had heard that if you asked one of the workers selling pickles how their day was going, that you would get a free pickle. We tried several times, but no luck! It became an ongoing joke all day...and we'd talked about it so much, I finally had to buy one...and it was delicious!

 And I dragged everyone on Casey Jr. Train...I was excited to be in the caboose! :)

 After dinner we had to have Mickey beignets!

 The lines got ridiculously long after 9:30pm! We decided to do a little shopping on Main Street to pick up a few things for our kids. I couldn't resist this peanut butter bar! I was so full, but had to try it!

What a fun day! We were exhausted and sore after such a long day, but I am so thankful to have these great ladies in my life. They fill me with joy, support, love, and laughter! We're hoping to make this a new tradition, and already looking forward to next year's adventure!

Homecoming 2016

Homecoming week was filled with more spirit days...

They did an awesome pep rally for the kids on Friday, followed by a great football game Friday night. Although GOHS couldn't pull off the win, losing in overtime, it was a fun game and halftime show with fireworks.

The Homecoming Dance was Saturday night, and the theme was The Great Gatsby.
Zoe couldn't wait, and was excited to be spending the evening with her friends! She had dance rehearsals most of the day, then headed straight to Lacey's house to get ready. I met them all in Old Town for some pictures.

Then it was Cooper's turn. He let me take a quick picture before we left. He wasn't even sure if we was going to go, as dances aren't really his thing, but he made a last minute decision and went.

He met up with some of his Junior and Senior friends and we got a few quick pictures. Boys are way faster at this than the girls were!

The were all cracking me up with their longer hair in the wind. Love their laughter!

They both had a great time. Although it was packed, they danced, saw friends, and hung out. Another homecoming in the books!
