Promotion Party #1

It sure is a busy time of year for parties! One of the girls in Cooper's class hosted a promotion party for their class after school. The kids ate hot dogs, chips, and lots of treats. They swam and played lawn games too.

Cooper and Keren had quite a basketball contest!

Cooper had a wonderful class this year, full of great kids! Mrs. Newman even stopped by to say hi to her class. With a few friends moving, and some of them going to different middle schools, it was nice to get them all together to celebrate and say some goodbyes before the summer begins.

Let's Jump!

Cooper decided that he wanted to have his birthday party at Get Air this year. We needed to have it a little early due to our crazy June schedule, so we met up with 10 of his friends on Wednesday after school. They spent over 2 hours jumping, flipping, playing dodge ball, trampoline cageball and making basketball shots. The foam pit was awesome!

They had a great organized game of dodge ball. The teams had to sit down until the whistle blew and then the throwing began...

They loved jumping from trampoline to trampoline...

Mimi brought Jax down since he had a modified day today. Cooper was happy he was able to make it...the party wouldn't be complete with his cousin!

Time to get their shoes on and head out. Wow, were these boys sweaty!
What a great group of boys!!

After 2 hours of jumping, we brought the boys back to our house for pizza, gift opening, and cake and ice cream.

Cooper was spoiled with lots of cash and giftcards!
Then it was time for cake. Cooper requested a chocolate Oreo layer cake that he found on my Pinterest board. It was a lot of work, but turned out delicious!
The party was a success and the boys had a lot of fun! Cooper got his birthday present early from Mimi and Gramps and he couldn't be happier... a brand new customized scooter in his favorite colors. He has been picking out the parts for months, piece by piece, waiting to have it put together. I see many more hours of practicing tricks in his future!

Happy early Birthday Coop!

5th Grade Pool Party!

The 5th graders wait all year to attend their pool party at the Community Rec Center. Jenny and I were in charge of the event, so we've been working on the details for the past few weeks. Thankfully, we had some awesome parent volunteers and the day couldn't have gone smoother.

The kids hopped off the school bus at about 9:30 and huddled together to listen to the rules of the pool. They couldn't wait to jump in the water!
The sun wasn't out yet, and it was a bit chilly, but they didn't care!
They were anxious to go down the slide...
and jump off of the diving board...

The teachers got to enjoy a little downtime today!

At 11:00, they had to get out of the pool for the Adult Lap Swim at the CRC. They spent 45 minutes going through different game stations. Amanda did an incredible job organizing this and the kids had a blast.
Cooper started with the towel dance. They had to pair up and dance. When the music stopped, each pair had to jump on their towel. After each round, they had to fold their towel in half.
Cooper and Eli had to "hug it out" in order to fit!
 Next up was limbo...
 then a hula hoop game...
 a water sponge race...
 and a sponge, over-under game...
he finished with a spaghetti noodle relay race...
After the games, it was time to eat. We served pizza, goldfish, fruit snacks, water bottles, and ice cream sandwiches. These kids were hungry!
They had some spare time, so they did a little Gangnam Style dancing...
The sun had come out and they were anxious to get back in the water!
We had another volunteer create this beautiful "photo booth" with props for the kids to take some fun pictures!

We had a fun day volunteering for this event. The kids have all worked so hard this year, and it was a great day to be away from school and celebrate!
