We took advantage of a cheap timeshare getaway to Palm Desert this week! We have gone the last few summers and have always had a great time, even in the heat. We decided to bring Jax with us since my mom was busy taking care of Poppe, and Lacey ended up coming too, since her sister was still sick. The kids each had a buddy which made it a lot of fun for them. Joe was supposed to meet us out there later in the week, but ended up having to work, so it was just me and the kids.
Nothing makes us feel like we are heading to the desert like seeing the windmills!
Our room was right on a golf course and pond, so the kids spent lots of time outside playing and exploring.
We ate most of our meals in the room...kids enjoyed their chips and salsa!
We spent time every day at one of the many pools at the resort!
I was so excited to see a Dylan's Candy Bar store in the lobby when I checked in! So, we had to make a stop in there to pick up some treats.
In the evenings, when it finally cooled off, the kids would ride their scooters around, and the boys would hit the basketball court.
Around 9pm, the temperature was fantastic, and the kids loved to go outside and run around and play games.

We spent another day taking the aerial tram up to the San Jacinto Mountains and hiked around for a few hours. It was about 30 degrees cooler up there and absolutely beautiful!

That night we hit the weekly Palm Springs Street Fair. It was neat to walk the main street and see all the food, vendors, artists and street performers.
