More lakeside fun...

After spending some time at Harveston Lake the other day, the kids were begging Joe to go back and do some fishing. So we packed up the fishing gear, packed up another picnic lunch and headed out.
Joe got them all set to go...
The couldn't wait to get their lines in the water. They haven't fished since last summer, but after a few practices, the easily remembered how to cast off.
No fish were biting, so they took a lunch break...
Time to try for some more fish. This time they were ready for some live bait!

Still no luck with the fish. Everyone else around the lake was having the same luck as us. The kids were very patient and even though they didn't catch any fish today, they had a really fun time trying. We got to spend a nice, relaxing day by the lake, the weather was perfect, and we saw some beautiful butterflies and dragonflies too.

After loading up the fishing gear back into the car we even did a quick 1/2 hour ride in a pedal boat. Joe and I sure got a good leg workout! It was a great family day.
