Lakeside Picnic

Boy am I going to miss these relaxing summer days!! The weather sure has been cool this month (well, mid to high 80's is definitely considered cool!) Unfortunately, the coast was too overcast for a beach day so Jenny and I decided to spend the day at one of my favorite spots in town, Harveston Lake. It is just such a pretty, relaxing place to spend a day.
The kids brought their scooters to ride around the lake and we found a nice spot under a tree to have a picnic lunch. The kids had fun looking at baby turtles swimming in the water and well as some pretty good sized fish. Zoe and Cooper can't wait to come back and fish like we did last summer.
There isn't a tree that Zoe won't attempt to climb, so she was up there in a heartbeat. The kids had fun climbing around the branches and posed for a few photos too...
It was fun afternoon just hanging out...we even stopped at Rite Aid for some cheap ice cream on the way home. Yummy! Gotta love that chocolate malted crunch! :)
