Celebrating the 4th!

It was a nice relaxing day celebrating the 4th of July! We headed to Newport Beach to spend the day with Grandma and Grandpa. Zoe couldn't wait to get her hands on Tink!
The sun finally came out just after lunch, so we took advantage and headed straight to the beach! Parking was a bit of a struggle so Grandma dropped us off and picked us up later in the afternoon.
The beach was beautiful! I was also able to take our annual picture of the cousins together at the beach...
The waves were really big, and the current very strong, so we had to stay in the sand or at the water's edge, but the kids had a great time!

This is how Cole spent the afternoon...
The kids spent the last hour or so in their wetsuits sitting at the edge letting the waves crash into them. They were laughing so hard and having a ton of fun!
I did get a little bit of video too...

After the beach, we had a yummy BBQ dinner...what is more patriotic than hamburgers and hot dogs (with a little bit of shrimp), some corn on the cob, baked beans, and macaroni salad.
We ended the night watching the fireworks from the deck...

We are so blessed to live in this amazing country and are truly thankful for all of the soldiers who are spending their lives keeping us safe...
