Lions, and Tigers, and Bears...oh my!

What a beautiful day at the Wild Animal Park. Zoe brought her good friend Lacey and we met Grandma and Jax for a fun day seeing all of the animals at the park. The weather was a bit warm, but there was plenty of shade and misters. The park wasn't crowded at all, so we had lots of room to roam.
We saw so many animals...gorillas, elephants, big horn sheep, tigers, lions, gazelles, rhinos, giraffe, okapi, storks, flamingos, gibbons, lorakeets, and many, many more!

Zoe had my camera and ended up taking 140 pictures of every animal we came across! I won't post too many, but she sure had fun. We did get to see some adorable baby elephants. There was one born in February, March and May...so cute!
One of the volunteers was showing us how they turn elephant poop into paper...pretty interesting!

The meerkats were cute too! This is my kind of animal...some were digging holes, but most of them were flat on their backs soaking up the sun.
After walking for a while, we decided to pick up the tram and journey through "Africa". The views were beautiful.

Time for a lunch break...

We loved watching the gibbons...their arms are so long and it is neat to watch them swing around. These two were content to hang out together and watch us...
We came across the fake ostrich eggs, which Zoe remembered from when she was a tiny little girl. Every time we came to the park (which was very often back in those days) she kept asking when they would hatch. I think it secretly broke her heart when she learned they were fake a few years ago. :(
The kids had fun in the petting kraal...

Zoe was getting her picture taken when this sweet thing decided to go after her braided hair!
It was nice to cool off by walking through the misters...

Dessert time...the boys decided to consume their cotton candy in the cave.
We had unlimited tickets to ride the carousel, so we hopped on. The boys didn't think it was going to be too fun, and reluctantly went on...well, they ended up staying on for 5 more rides!


I think we successfully wore them out!
