Hollywood, here we come!

Are we crazy to attempt Universal Studios on a Saturday, in the middle of the summer, when it is 100 degrees outside??? Yes, but we did it anyway, and we had a great time!

Once we got inside the park we went straight to the Studio Tour tram. We had to wait about a half an hour, but it was well worth the hour long ride.
The boys were excited to get their 3D glasses for the new King Kong 3D experience that was included in the tour.
We were ready for the tour to start...
The tour was awesome! We got to see the studios where so many movies and tv shows are filmed, including Wisteria lane from Desperate Housewives...
They showed us how rain and flash floods are created...
We saw a commercial being filmed...
We saw the plane crash area where War of the Worlds was filmed...
I couldn't get any pictures, but the King Kong piece was amazing, as was The Mummy display. We also saw Jaws, car tricks, the street scenes, and much more!

We then moved on to the Special Effects show. It was really neat to see how far the technology in movie making has come in the last few decades!

We took a break for lunch...
We were ready to cool off a bit since it was VERY hot outside, so we went to the Jurassic Park water ride. We didn't realize the line was as long as it was, and we ended up waiting over an hour! The ride wasn't all we had anticipated it to be, but the 84 foot drop at the end was pretty spectacular and we got drenched!
The boys decided to get a little foot massage...
Time for a little dessert...
Zoe couldn't resist this churro ice cream Sunday!
Jeff, Cole, and Jax...
After walking around for a while longer, we were all beat! Although there was a bit more to see and do, we were ready to stop fighting the crowds and be done for the day.

Here are the happy faces! We had a really fun day, and we were also glad to be heading home!
