Saying Goodbye to the Team...

We had our final baseball event event of the season with our team party. We met up at a beautiful park in French Valley for an afternoon of BBQ, games, gifts, and cake.
Coach Matt addressed the team one more time, once again telling them how proud he was of each and every one of them. He couldn't believe how much all of them have improved from our first day of practice. It really is a special group of boys!
The coaches received their gifts (engraved bats) and each of the kids received a raffle gift. Cooper was lucky enough to bring home a new baseball gear pack. After lunch we all got ready for a parents vs. kids baseball game. We had a ton of fun, and boy did the competitive spirit of the parents come out. There was no mercy on those kids!
We all got turns batting and in the outfield...

After the game, the parents took a breather and sat down to hang out and eat some cake. The kids never stopped playing. They went from the basketball court to the playground, and then out on the grass for their own impromptu baseball game. They had a blast and we couldn't believe they still had the energy to keep going!

We sure will miss being a part of this team! They took one last photo together...go KC Royals!
