Last Day Awards, Activities, and Goodbyes...

With the way I had to drag the kids out of bed this morning, I think they are ready for summer break! But after eating their yummy pop-up pancakes for breakfast, they were excited to get to school to celebrate the end of the year with friends.
We started the morning with Friday flag salute. Zoe and Cooper were both called up for donating books to the school library for their upcoming birthdays.

They also both got called up for perfect attendance for the 3rd trimester...
It was then time for academic awards for the 4th and 5th graders. Zoe was again awarded honor roll! She was thrilled to be given her award by Mrs. A.
Not only was she given the honor roll award, but she was recognized (and got to take a big step forward) for receiving all 5's (92% or higher) on her report card. She was so excited to have achieved this for the entire year.
Zoe, we are so proud of you!! You have worked so hard!
The rest of the morning assembly was filled with lots of fun recognitions. We even found out who the school "spirit spy" was...it was Ms. Han! I sure love that lady, she has some serious spunk.
Mr. McTasney closed the morning with the traditional tunnel of teachers. The entire 5th grade class ran through for their final goodbye to the school. I got quite choked up watching them all, knowing they won't be here next year. Zoe will really miss her friend Taylor as she goes off to middle school.
While Zoe spent the day in her classroom watching movies, Cooper and the 2nd graders had Field Day. They rotated through 7 different fun activities...Cooper's class started with the bat spin relay.
You gotta love this face...
At the end of the day it was was time for some tearful goodbyes. We were so blessed to have 2 AMAZING teachers this year. This is our 2nd time around with Mrs. Falciano, and we just adore her. She is the perfect fit for both of my kids. We will miss her a ton!
Cooper was very excited to finally see his report card though. Our little guy also received all 5's! Way to go Cooper...that makes the whole year for him too. What a fantastic accomplishment!

It was then time to leave Mrs. Atkinson. Zoe had a really hard time saying goodbye, she has grown to care about her so much. After many tears, it was time to go...

It has been a wonderful, exciting, busy, and crazy year for all of us at school this year. I couldn't be more proud you two!
