Ouch!

We had a quiet day at home today, so I was looking forward to getting through my very long to-do list. Joe took the kids to the park to practice some baseball. Zoe wanted to tag along, since she is always up for anything. After about an hour, they came running in and grabbed the ice pack. I took one look at Zoe and knew she was in for some pain. A line drive ball bounced off the dirt and hit her right in the eye
So for the next few hours, we cuddled on the couch, with ice on her eye, and watched a movie. Thankfully, the ibuprofen set in, the swelling went down a bit so she could open her eye and the pain eased some. We actually got some good smiles out of her!

We weren't sure how it was going to look by morning, but she wasn't a happy camper when she woke up.
She really didn't want to go to school looking like this. Luckily, the ice brought down the swelling again, and it didn't look quite as bad. With a little more ice at school, she was a trooper and by the end of the day it looked much better, just a bit more bruised.
Let's hope it goes away completely before Promotion ceremony on Thursday!
