Arizona...Day 2 (Easter Sunday!)

It felt a little different to wake up on Easter in a hotel room, but we sure enjoyed our day. We gave the kids a few gifts, and some plastic eggs filled with a little cash.  We had a great breakfast at the hotel before heading out.

 While waiting for church to start, we walked next door to the NAU campus to look around.

 We liked this campus, surrounded by pine trees and beautiful old buildings.

 About 20,000 students attend here, and there are tons of residence halls. This is the entrance to the student union center.

 After walking the campus, we headed to an adorable old church for Easter service. We met some really nice people and enjoyed the pastor's sermon.

 We changed clothes, checked out of the hotel, and hit the road. The drive to Sedona was gorgeous.

 We were anxious to get to Slide Rock. Unfortunately, with it being Spring Break, and a holiday, it was really crowded! It took almost an hour to get inside the park, but it was worth it.

 Can't help but feel blessed today, surrounded by God's creations.

 It was a short walk down to Oak Creek, where there were lots of people having picnics and hanging out by the water. We went to the area where the rocks form a natural slide, and got up the nerve to go in. The water was FREEZING cold!

 It was cold, but fun! Then the kids went to the jumping area for a few leaps.

 We went back to the slide area and convinced Joe to give it a try.

 While Joe warmed up and spent some time talking with some locals, the kids and I went for a long walk up the creek.

 Love watching these two help each other out, and have fun together.

 It was gorgeous and empty as we explored further up the creek.

 We left Slide Rock and drove into Sedona. What a beautiful drive!

 We checked into our hotel/timeshare unit and settled in. What a gorgeous view from our balcony!

 We walked down the street and had a delicious pizza dinner.

We settled in for the night. One of my favorite things about family trips is watching Zoe and Cooper have fun together, and reconnect, since they are both so busy when we're at home. They turned on the tv, and The Incredibles movie was on, and they spent the next hour watching, laughing hysterically, and reminiscing about when they were "little". Love these moments...
