Cooper finished his last youth basketball league season with a Championship! The Heat were unstoppable and had an undefeated season. After heading down to San Diego early this morning for his first lacrosse game of the season, we raced back up to the semi-final basketball game. It was a really close game, and kept us on the edge of our seats. Cooper's shooting was a little off, but his defense was on fire and he had 5 steals. They won! We went home to rest for a bit, and headed back to the championship game at 7:30.
Cooper's shots were back on and he made 2 3-pointers.
He was, once again, strong on defense and kept up high energy throughout the game.
There were a few tense moments in the game when it got neck and neck, but we pulled off the win. Coach Portis gave a great speech about the team and their fun season.
We will definitely miss having Chris as a coach. His constant positivity and support has gone a long way.
The boys got their trophies and Champ t-shirts. This team is made up of a great group of boys, and it was such a fun season for Coop.
I don't know what the future holds for Cooper in basketball, but this was a great way to end his 8th grade year!
