Cooper could not have been more excited for basketball season to begin! He has a brand new team, brand new coach, and he is making his way on the team. This team is comprised of 8 boys, 6 of them coming from tackle football. Five have never played basketball before, so it has been an interesting experience so far. The coach is great though, and has been really positive with the boys. I think Cooper will learn a lot and it should be a lot of fun!
The Jazz had their first day of games today. They ended up with a double header, playing at 5:00 and 7:30. Only half of the teams received their official jerseys, so our boys were given some practice jerseys to play in.
The first game was against the Celtics and they were a strong team.
Coop took his penalty shot!
We lost by 12, our boys just didn't quite have it together and are still learning some of the basics. My boy still had a big smile on his face though. He loves this sport!
We had about an hour break, so I went and picked up Zoe from dance rehearsals and Joe took Coop to get a Subway sandwich before heading back to play. The next game was against the 76ers.
This was a much better game for our boys and they were getting some good shots and plays in!
This girl was exhausted after spending 10 hours at the dance studio today!! All she wanted was a shower and a warm bed!
These boys fought hard and we were winning up until the last 50 seconds of the game. A boy on the other team made an amazing 3 pointer and unfortunately, we lost by 1.
I think we have a lot to work on, but these boys are all really good athletes. Hopefully we can pull of some wins, and have a great time in the process. In the meantime, Coop is happy to be back on the court!
