Summer Dance Intensive

Zoe has been dancing, dancing, and dancing some more this week. She started the week long dance intensive on Monday. From 9:30 to 3:30 every day, she has been doing a variety of dance classes. She started the day with a 1/2 hour of bible study & devotions, followed by conditioning, a master dance class (either jazz, hip-hop, breakdance, modern/lyrical, or stomp/rhythm), a specialty class (such as dance nutrition, music counting, dance history, or drama), lunch, and ending with 2 1/2 hours of ballet. Even though she came home exhausted each day, she loved every minute of it!

Today they ended the week with an informal, in-studio performance. Although the week was more about dance technique instead of choreography, it was fun to see some of the new things they had learned and watch them put together a fun show after a quick rehearsal. Zoe started off introducing herself, as well as quoting one of her favorite bible verses.
Proverbs 3:34
"God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble."

She first danced a fun jazz routine...

followed by a beautiful lyrical number...

showed off some ballet technique...

She even did some breakdancing, which she discovered she really likes!

They ended with a fantastic finale dance...

Great job Zoe! Time to enjoy a short break before going back in August for a lot more classes!
