Summer Trip...Day 1

We were so excited to hit the road for a family vacation to Colorado.  We were on the road by 4:30 am to get an early start!

 We made it to Nevada and stopped for some bagels in Vegas.

 Drove through Arizona...

 and made it to Utah for the night.

 We had to make a stop at Nielsen's for a delicious treat. It turned out to be our lunch, but I guess that's what road trips are all about!

 We couldn't wait to pull into Zion National Park.

We hopped on the shuttle to get to The Narrows hike. One mile on a beautiful path that leads to the canyon and a hike up the Virgin River.

Time to get wet...

 It was absolutely beautiful inside this canyon The colors and rock formations were awesome. We had a great time maneuvering through the river and rocks, and getting pretty wet.

 This part got pretty deep!

 and the kids found a place to do some swimming...although the water was pretty darn cold!

 We turned around and made our way back down the river. While drying off and getting ready to head back to the shuttle we found this little guy...he had no problem being right next to us.

 We were beat from a long day of driving and hiking. We grabbed a delicious BBQ dinner in the cute town of Springdale and got to bed so we'd be ready for the next day.
