I'm so glad that the middle school takes a night to recognize the achievements of these hard working 8th graders! This is the beginning of a fun week for these students.
Each department was able to recognize some of students with special awards. Zoe was given an Excellence award in Science by Mr. Stromberg. We were joking that she would never get the math award since it is her least favorite subject and the one teacher who was the hardest on her...well, for whatever reason, he gave her an excellence award in Math. She was shocked!
The award she worked the hardest for was the Principal's Honor Roll plaque. To earn this means getting a 4.0 for all 3 years of middle school. This was Zoe's goal starting at Vail and she did it! Only 31 students out of over 500 in her promoting class got this award. What an achievement!
Mr. Ricks congratulated Zoe and also told me what a wonderful student she is and what a pleasure it was to teach her. Wow...we didn't expect that from him after the year they've had, but it was a welcome compliment!
Zoe has some great friends, all of whom work so hard and take great pride in their school work.
Congratulations on all of your awards Zoe! We are so proud of how hard you work, how dedicated and responsible you are, and how you manage to balance school, dance, friends and family!
