We headed to Newport to celebrate Independence Day with Mimi and Gramps. A usually gorgeous beach day was not so gorgeous, but I will never turn down a day at the beach! Luckily, Mimi has full wetsuits for the kids, so they didn't care how cold it was.
They did spend time playing in the sand too...throwing the football, burying each other, and having running races (Cooper can now officially beat me!).
The afternoon warmed up a bit, and we actually saw a tiny speck of sun. The kids stripped off the wetsuits and spent another hour or so playing in the water.
We grilled up some dinner and enjoyed a nice meal together.
We even managed to do some indoor s'mores!
Although the weather wasn't great, we enjoyed a nice day together celebrating our freedoms. We made it home just in time to catch the Temecula fireworks at the end of a great day!
