We were so excited to head up to the mountains for a day of snowboarding. We have had such cold temperatures lately, that it was nice to see all of the beautiful snow in the mountains. Since it was just a quick day trip, we went to Snow Valley. We were expecting lots of holiday crowds, but to our happy surprise, the place was empty!
The sun was out most of the day, but the wind made for some cold temperatures. Luckily we were all bundled up and stayed warm (except for Mimi who was waiting at the bottom of the slopes!)

I love riding up the lifts and seeing the beautiful views from up above. The kids all wanted to ride together for our first ride up.
We all took a few runs to get ourselves back into the groove. We only went snowboarding once last year, so we were feeling a bit rusty. Jax has spent the last year skateboarding a ton, so that really helped him with his snowboarding skills. He was speeding down the hill, having a blast and looking great.

Cooper was struggling with his skills a bit. He was doing great with his "heels", but having difficulty with getting his "toe" skills down. We decided to put him in a one hour lesson to help boost his confidence and get him on the right track again. He loved his instructor Hayden, and felt much better after it was over. Maybe I need a lesson too!?

Although Zoe still needs to work on a few skills too, she did great, and enjoyed going over a few of the jumps on the trails.
We had a great day on the slopes, and didn't have to wait in ANY lift lines. I wish it could always be like this. I'm afraid by next week, the crowds will be back!
Zoe loves to strike a pose...
We took a few breaks throughout the day too, for hot chocolate and some lunch that we packed up and brought with us.
It was a fun day, and hopefully we will get a chance to do it again this winter! Thanks Mimi!
