School celebrations!

It's the last day of school before our winter break...yahoo! The day started with our Friday Flag Assembly. Honor Roll was awarded to the qualifying 4th and 5th grade students, and Cooper was excited to be called up.

After they were called up, Mr. McTasney called out the names of the students who earned all 5's this semester and told them to take their giant step forward. Cooper has been worried about this all week. He has really high expectations for himself, and he was going to be very upset if he didn't achieve his goal. I told him that it didn't matter, as long as he tries his hardest, but he really wanted it. Fortunately, his name was called and he was thrilled!
Congratulations Cooper! We are so proud of you!
After singing a few holiday songs, they went back to their class for some holiday fun. The class presented Mrs. Rogers with a gift card tree which put a big smile on her face.

Chessa helped the kids craft some cute ornaments!

Then they chowed down on a delicious pancake and fruit breakfast (notice Cooper's plate is missing the fruit!)
The rest of the day will be fun and relaxing with games and movies. They all deserve a break after the long semester!

Unfortunately, there are no fun celebrations for Zoe at the middle school, but since she finished the last of her finals yesterday, at least it would be an easy day! Since she had a modified day, we went out to lunch with friends. She has worked really hard this semester too, has earned all A's, and we couldn't be more proud!

So now let the winter break begin!! I am looking forward to some relaxation (after Zoe's show tomorrow!), no set schedule or making lunches, and some fun with family and friends!!
