Palm Desert Getaway!

About six months ago, I was able to book a week getaway out in Palm Desert through our timeshare trading company. It was super cheap and I couldn't turn it down. We weren't really sure what our schedule would be like this month, but did it anyway. Since we had to finish up baseball for Coop, we weren't able to go out until Sunday. Unfortunately, Joe had to stay home to work, so just the kids and I headed out for several days of fun. We did have to make the trip back home for Zoe's dance class on Monday, so we met Daddy for dinner before heading back to the resort. It was so nice to spend some time relaxing and playing, and forgetting about the long to-do list at home!

The resort was beautiful, and we had a great villa, including a full kitchen, living room, large bedroom with spa tub, and huge bathroom. We could have stayed for a month!

After checking in, we immediately hit the pool. The weather was perfect...warm and breezy, with cool nights!

There were so many activities to do, the kids had a blast! The water slide was a big hit. I went on it a dozen times or so, and I think the kids probably did it a hundred...

There was also poolside basketball...

water volleyball...

jacuzzi time...

a hula hoop contest (which Cooper won!)...

and a hat dance contest (which Zoe won!)...

They each enjoyed their winning smoothies...

They did a water balloon toss...

followed by a game of tag...

they ran through sprinklers...

made a tie dye shirt...

played catch with tennis balls, baseballs, and footballs...

we took several walks...

and enjoyed some down time on the lounge chairs...

We took advantage of our private grill and cooked up some burgers. Zoe set the table each night for dinner...

We played games, watched movies, and just spent time hanging out...

We did head to the mall for a little shopping one morning, and spent one morning at the Living Desert Zoo. The kids love it there, and we were all thankful it wasn't too hot this time around!
They love brushing the goats. Cooper's goat kept following him around until finally Cooper stopped and sat to groom him. He must've stayed there for a half an hour...Coop named him Chuck and wants to go back to visit soon!

While we were out, we got a call that Cooper had made the final All-Star Baseball team that will be continuing on to the regional tournament in July!! It is an honor to be chosen, but is also a huge time commitment. It means baseball every single night, and giving up all other plans for the summer. Cooper weighed the decision heavily, but decided he really wanted to take the opportunity and do it. We thought baseball was over for us this summer, but I guess that's not the case. So it was time to head back home and get back to our schedule of dance and baseball! We sure had a great time though and hope we can come back soon!
