Jenny, Leslie and I headed down to San Diego for some sweets to celebrate our birthdays. We've heard some great things about the Donut Bar, so we wanted that to be our first stop.
The line is out the door and they are open every day until they sell out. They have a delicious menu of donut choices!
We got an assortment to share...nutella, apple orchard, mud pie, strawberry cheesecake, chocolate crobar (their version of the famous cronut), and caramel latte.
These donuts were delicious!! It was so fun to cut these into pieces and taste them all. We left totally stuffed and full of sweetness.
We decided that we needed to walk a little bit, so we drove over to Balboa Park to walk around for a while. Although it was hot, it was a beautiful day, and nice to enjoy with no crowds.
The view from the freeway bridge is beautiful, but it was sad to see how dry everything is. We sure could use some rain around here.
We stopped to share a teriyaki chicken bowl (we needed some protein and sticky rice!) at a yummy Hawaiian hole in the hall place before our final stop at Hammond's Ice Cream. Creamy deliciousness...I got a flight of 4: Tahitian vanilla, banana macadamia nut fudge, Kona coffee, and strawberry sorbet.
We left with extremely full bellies, and a sugar rush, but it was a fun day with friends!
