A new sport for Coop!

Cooper has been going back and forth about wanting to try Lacrosse. It is a fairly new sport to this area, so we thought it would be the perfect time to get started. One of his good friends is just beginning and has gotten him pretty excited about it, so he asked Coop if he wanted to join him at a lacrosse clinic this Sunday. Thankfully, they had lots of loaner gear for him. I wasn't ready to spend any money on equipment until we knew he liked it!
The clinic had players from beginners to advanced high school students. They got their equipment on and were ready to go. Part of the clinic was being run by two LXM pros. One of them was a recipient of the Tewaaraton Award (which is the Heisman of NCAA D1 Lacrosse).

They divided the boys up into groups: beginner, intermediate, and advanced. Cooper was grouped with the rest of the newbies to learn the basics. (He's in the yellow/black jersey with the red elbow guards.)
They did basic stick skills, passing, catching, shooting, etc.

They finally got to some one-on-one drills, which is Cooper's favorite part!
Time for a water break. He was sweaty and tired, but feeling good and wanting to get back on the field.
They did a practice game at the end and Cooper was playing the attack position.

They finished up their drills and got all of the players together to talk and close out the morning.
Afterwards, they headed over to the Adrenaline truck. They each received a free pair of socks and got autographed posters from the two pros.
What a great experience this was! Meeting these guys was pretty awesome too, they are both incredibly accomplished athletes and were great with the kids.
Cooper loved playing and is looking forward to getting registered for the spring season! We've been scouring websites looking for deals and trying to figure out the ins and outs of all of the gear needed for this sport. Who knew it was so complicated?! I'm just glad he found another activity to keep himself busy and something else to be passionate about!
