Audition Season!

Just when we thought life might slow down a bit, we were wrong...January=auditions! Dunamix has decided to do a new Spring production this year called Pinocchio, The Story of the Prodigal Son. The dancers were thrilled with this new opportunity, but it also means an audition, and several months of long rehearsals.
Nicole held auditions on Saturday...

Zoe was able to complete the ballet audition, but had to leave before the jazz one in order to race to Irvine. January and early February are when all of the auditions take place for summer dance intensives all around the country. Zoe is hoping to audition for 4 of them, but we may have to narrow it down a bit.
We filled out applications and she submitted her "first arrabesque" photo...
 and a head shot...

In Irvine, she audition for SAB (School of American Ballet, New York) with her friend Sonia. Zoe doesn't usually get nervous for auditions or performances, but she was a bit intimidated at this one. The competition was strong, and the technique a little different. These girls were happy to have each other!
Zoe came out of there saying she wasn't too confident, but she still had a smile on her face, and it was a great experience.
After spending the night at Mimi's, we headed to Long Beach the next day to audition for ABT (American Ballet Theater). Their summer intensive programs are in New York, Irvine, North Carolina, Houston, and Alabama. The most elite is the New York, 5 week program. Several of the girls from Dunamix were there. It was great to see their smiles, and the tremendous support they give to each other!
Lined up and ready to go.
Zoe felt happy with her performance here, but now is the hard part...waiting for results! With possibly 2 more auditions to go, we will just have to wait and see...
