We were able to head down to San Diego tonight for an American Idol viewing party with Feliza and the kids. Their friend's daughter is Jessica Sanchez, one of the final 5 contestants on the show. It has been exciting to watch her perform this season...she is an amazing singer!
The party was held at a restaurant/bar with bowling lanes and an arcade. We ate some dinner and visited with Jessica's family and friends. The kids had fun playing games and running around before the show started. Outside they had a mock red carpet set up, and a cardboard cutout of Jessica, with "paparazzi" photographers and all.
Once the show started, they had all of the tv stations on and everyone watched the performances and cheered along. A local radio station DJ was there to host the evening.
There were a bunch of food trucks outside too, and we couldn't resist grabbing some desserts to eat during the show. Although we were all tired from a long day, we had a great time!
